An Inspiration to Australian Women. What’s Next for Dr Susan Alberti AC?

Australian businesswomen Dr Susan Alberti AC is leading the way to raising awareness towards finding a cure for type 1 diabetes, through the Susan Alberti Medical Research Foundation.

The establishment of Australia’s National Women’s Football League has brought upon endless opportunities for many individuals, in particular women in sport, and it’s people like Dr Susan Alberti AC (pictured middle) we have to thank for its existence and continued success over the years.

Known as the “trailblazer” of women’s football, Susan became the 2018 Victorian of the year for many reasons. She played a crucial role in establishing the National League and for the success of the Western Bulldogs Football Club.

But, her contribution to Australian society goes beyond the footy field. “Susan is also leading the way to raising awareness towards finding a cure for type 1 diabetes, through the Susan Alberti Medical Research Foundation, which has raised over $200 million,” said the Housing Industry Association – HIA – Tasmania.

Susan shared her inspirational life story at the HIA’s Building Women’s Breakfast in Launceston, Tasmania on February 24. The event gathered people to acclaim all the women working in the residential building and construction. It was also a space to network. Participants also had the chance to listen to Leana Mitchell, from New Trend Homes Tas Pty Ltd, story. The speakers talked about “the challenges they had overcome and how they have achieved results in all aspects of their lives,” said HIA.

Our Mas Tasmania Team were privileged in attending this iconic event. Kim Taylor, the State Manager (pictured left), and Berni Chapman, Business Consultant (pictured right), thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

“Congratulations on an excellent HIA event in Launceston. Both Susan Alberti and Leana Mitchell shared amazing and courageous stories. Our Mas National Team enjoyed the delicious breakfast and opportunity to network with many women from the building industry,” said Kim.

What a perfect start to the month, to commemorate and celebrate International Woman’s Day.
