Apprenticeships Driving Success: How Little Miracles Childcare Grew with Mas National

Ten years ago, Little Miracles Childcare was a small business with just one centre, working hard to establish itself in a competitive industry. Fast forward to 2025, and they now operate six thriving centres, with 70 apprentices among their employees. “From having just one centre and struggling to fill rooms, to now having a 12-month waitlist—it’s been an incredible journey,” said Angus Randall, Mas National’s Regional Manager based in Newcastle.

Recently, Glen, Scott Lawler (Mas National’s State Manager for NSW and ACT) and Angus, visited one of the childcare centres to see the impact of apprenticeships in action. They were joined by Hon. Andrew Giles MP, Minister for Skills and Training, and Dr. Gordon Reid MP, Federal Member for Robertson, who met with business CEO Michael Bateman and spoke with three apprentices about their experiences.

These discussions highlighted the real benefits of starting an apprenticeship—from gaining hands-on experience to securing career opportunities in a growing sector. All 70 trainees at Little Miracles are Mas National clients, pursuing a Certificate III or Diploma in Childcare.

The visit also addressed the Australian Government’s continued support for businesses through the Priority Skills List, ensuring industries have access to a skilled workforce.
