It’s more than just a job
You don’t have to “spend a dollar” on training to make a successful career change — just ask Elise Dahl.
Elise was a qualified Beauty Therapist and Nail Artist who invested over $50,000 to open her own business. She worked in this space for 15-years before deciding it was time for a career change.
Elisa has always had a passion for Home Renovations and Woodwork, and thanks to her now-workmate John McCallum (featured right in this photo), encouraged her to apply for a job with his employer Trimview, located in Huntingfield (TAS).
Elisa didn’t let this opportunity pass and submitted her resume swiftly, continuing to follow up with the employer Grant De Jersey, demonstrating her willingness to learn and passion for the industry.

Her determination impressed Grant, who was happy to give her a chance, but because she was new to the field, with no qualifications, it wasn’t an easy transition. However, with the support from Luiza Malinowska, one of our Business Consultants in Tasmania, the transition became simple. Elisa could undertake a Certificate III in Cabinet Making whilst getting paid on the job — “earn while you learn”.
Elisa is now an Australian Apprentice Cabinet Maker.
“Grant is very pleased to have her on board, and her colleagues are very supportive to ensure she continues to thrive,” said Luiza.
Elisa said she enjoys learning new skills and feels comfortable at the Workshop. She finds her daily routine easier now that she doesn’t have to dress-up and put make-up on before going to work every day.
