Cycle of Change was an interactive and innovative program designed by Mas Transition to engage, support and empower disengaged school students work towards a bright future.
Having concluded, Cycle of Change delivered workshops to help disadvantaged youth in South Australia overcome barriers to employment. The program instilled a strong sense of achievement and self-confidence through a series of vocational and non-vocational workshops designed to give young people skills they can carry throughout their lives.
The program was a collaboration between Mas Transition and Lighthouse Youth Projects, with both organisations sharing a passion for supporting young people in finding sustainable and meaningful employment.
The Cycle of Change program for disadvantaged youth taught an important lesson that hard work, persistence and dedication can truly pay off.

The BMX bike acted as a vehicle of engagement, promoting peer support and social inclusion. Teachings from the workshops were contextualised and applied to BMX riding and hands-on activities. Participants learnt to ride a BMX and perform tricks, channelling any thrill-seeking or risk-taking behaviours into constructive activities.
Young people developed soft and hard skills to set them up for sustainable employment and education opportunities.
A key part of the Cycle of Change experience was our smartphone app, which focuses on developing emotional intelligence.

This visual representation of progress keeps participants engaged and highly motivated, with graduates rewarded with a bike. The app also has features that help with the development of emotional intelligence and provides a way for participants to communicate.
Through the gamification of learning, youth remained motivated and engaged throughout the experience.
