Based in Victoria, Burder Industries is one of Australia’s largest front-end loader manufacturers. It remains proudly family-owned and operated, beginning with a humble team of 5 employees in 1991. This has evolved into a workforce of more than 60 today.
Over the years, Burder Industries have significantly diversified their business in order to remain competitive in an increasingly difficult marketplace. While many Australian manufacturers have struggled in the face of international competition, Burder Industries has grown and now maintains a network of over 400 approved dealers.
As part of its innovative approach, Burder Industries recognises the importance of workforce development and investing in continuous improvement. In February 2020 they decided to upskill their staff with the help of Complete Lean Solutions, a Registered Training Organisation and consultancy firm.
Mas National worked with Burder Industries to help streamline and facilitate this process before the full impact of COVID-19 hit Australian shores. Rather than putting a hold on this training project, Burder Industries recognised the challenges created by COVID-19 as an opportunity for further growth. With buy-in from all involved, they have seen remarkable results.
Traditionally, training sessions are delivered face to face. However, in working to establish a safe and effective ‘new normal’, Complete Lean Solutions rapidly adapted their training delivery and support sessions to a virtual classroom environment.
