COVID-19 Business Impact Support Program for Tasmanian Businesses

You have until Tuesday, 8th March 2022 to access the second round of the COVID-19 Business Impact Support Program.
You may be eligible to receive the COVID-19 Business Impact Support Package if your business had a reduction in turnover of 30% or more between 15 January and 14 February 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, as a result of:

• critical staff had to isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19, or
• you had to close due to a Public Health direction, or
• suffered a significant reduction in demand.

According to Business Tasmania, “funding of between $1,000 and $10,000 is available to eligible businesses, depending on the business size. Support of up to $5,000 is also available to businesses that experienced an unavoidable loss of perishable goods because they have had to close.”

Newly established businesses that did not operate for the full 2020-21 financial year will be asked to project an annual sales turnover of between $25 000 and $10 million for the 2021-22 financial year (1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022)

Evidence of annual turnover includes:

• copy of the latest lodged Business Activity Statement for the entire year or a copy of the most recent lodged business tax return if not registered for GST.
• Other similar documentation that clearly demonstrates annual business turnover is greater than $25 000 and is related to the business ABN.
