Leading With Heart: Kim Taylor Appointed as National Engagement Lead for Disability
After two decades of exceptional leadership and transformative results at Mas, particularly in Tasmania, Kim Taylor is embarking on a new chapter as our National Engagement Lead for Disability. Her journey is nothing short of inspirational.
Driven by a profound passion for diversity and inclusion, Kim’s commitment is deeply personal. Her second child, Ebony, was born with Down syndrome, sparking Kim’s lifelong advocacy. As a founding member of Down Syndrome Australia (DSA), Kim’s dedication knows no bounds. Inspired by her daughter, she attended the World Down Syndrome Congress in Dublin when Ebony was 15, a pivotal moment that led to the establishment of DSA in Australia.
“I’ve had the privilege of interacting with incredible individuals with additional abilities over the years,” Kim shared. Her unwavering dedication was recognized in 2013 when she was named a Devonport Diamond. “I do enjoy watching people grow, seeing people succeed and reaching their potential,” she said.
In her new role, Kim is set to amplify her efforts in promoting diversity and inclusion. She will collaborate with disability stakeholders, employers, and job seekers to expand apprenticeship opportunities, fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce in Australia.
“I’ll collaborate with disability stakeholders, employers, and job seekers to expand apprenticeship opportunities, fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce in Australia,” she explained.
We’ve been privileged to have Kim’s guidance for two decades, and we’re thrilled to have her lead us in this vital new endeavor.
