Proudly part of IntoWork Australia
The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is a state-wide Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) supporting children, young people, families and community members. VACCA is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia, having been in operation since 1977. VACCA supports Aboriginal communities in a way that promotes Aboriginal self-determination, respect and cultural safety.
VACCA’s core principles and values include:
VACCA’s work is underpinned by a focus on cultural connectedness, implementing over 50 programs to help Aboriginal children grow up strong, proud and have access to learning opportunities. These cultural programs for children and young people also include art mentoring, cultural camps and Return to Country. Other programs are also available for supporting new mums and families or individuals in crisis or in family violence situations.
Mas Community is proud to assist VACCA in achieving its mission, by supporting the organisation annually with their Christmas Gift Appeal. Each year VACCA provides over 900 children in foster care, residential care, kinship care or in other VACCA programs with Christmas gifts — spreading the love and joy of the season.
