Mas National’s Leading Tech Client Takes Home Prestigious SA Training Award

Mas National, part of the IntoWork Group, congratulates Datacom on being recognised for its commitment to providing career pathways to South Australians.

Datacom, Australasia’s largest homegrown Tech company, won the Best Large Employer of the Year award at the South Australian (SA) Training Awards in September, recognising their exceptional contribution to Vocational Education and Training (VET).

Mas National, an Apprentice Connect Australia Provider has partnered with Datacom for many years to facilitate hundreds of traineeships in business.

Mas’ Australian Apprenticeship Support Services Operations Manager Belinda Kent, praised Datacom’s commitment, “Seeing such fantastic outcomes for those undertaking a traineeship pathway at Datacom and Datacom winning the SA award sends a clear message to organisations about the value of upskilling workers and investing in their career journey.”

Since 2022, Mas has signed up over 500 students to the program. “We act as conduit between employers and trainees, ensuring clarity on obligations, offering mentoring support as needed and checking in at different points throughout the Traineeship,” Ms Kent said.

Datacom Traineeship Program Co-ordinator and Training Facilitator Megan Trestrail, highlighted the company’s focus on developing career pathways for South Australians, “Datacom is dedicated to providing opportunities that may otherwise be inaccessible. With a focus on creating career pathways into the IT, technology, and customer experience sectors, the Datacom Academy creates opportunities for individuals from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and experiences.”

The Traineeship program, part of a holistic career experience, has been praised for its intensive and effective approach.

Ms. Kent commended the program, noting its alignment with Mas’ mission to ensure the best outcomes for the trainees and their employer, “The program is exceptionally delivered. It’s truly a benchmark for how to design and implement an upskilling initiative.”

She further emphasised the importance of such initiatives in supplying skilled workers to key industries, “Megan and the entire Datacom team have shown exceptional commitment to the VET sector and the industries they serve. We look forward to continuing our support for their vital work.”
