Australian Apprenticeship Support Services 2024-26
The Australian Government has introduced a new model for Australian Apprenticeship Support Services, set to commence on 1 July 2024. This innovative approach aims to strengthen support for apprentices and drive up completion rates across the country. The initiative is a direct result of the Government’s commitment made during the Jobs and Skills Summit to explore options for improving apprenticeship support services.
Mas is proud to have been selected as an approved Apprentice Connect Australia Provider. We will be delivering these crucial services across New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia, and Tasmania, working collaboratively with organisations in these regions to provide comprehensive employment and business support.
The new model introduces specialised service providers for First Nations Australian Apprentices, women in male-dominated trades, and clean energy apprentices. This targeted approach ensures that these groups receive the specific support they need to succeed.
To streamline the process and improve communication, the program will utilise improved technology. This technological enhancement will allow for better targeted communications and more efficient program administration.

Key features of the new services
The new model for Australian Apprenticeship Support Services has been carefully designed to address the needs of apprentices, particularly those at highest risk of non-completion. It introduces several key improvements:
- The apprentice is placed at the centre of service provision, with an enhanced assessment at the beginning of the apprenticeship to set them up for success.
- Mentoring support services for both apprentices and employers have been strengthened, providing a more robust support system throughout the apprenticeship journey.
- The program offers increased support for Key Client Groups, including:
- Women in male-dominated trades
- First Nations Australian Apprentices
- Australian Apprentices with disability
- Australian Apprentices located in remote Australia
Mas National's role
As one of the nine Apprentice Connect Providers, Mas National will play a crucial role in helping apprentices, trainees, and employers navigate the Australian trainee and apprentice system. We will serve as the first point of contact, providing essential information, support, and advice throughout the entire apprenticeship process.
Our team is committed to offering personalised guidance and support, ensuring that both apprentices and employers have the resources they need to make the most of their apprenticeship experience.

For current apprentices and employers
If you’re currently involved in an apprenticeship program, you may be wondering how these changes will affect you. Here’s what you need to know: Most existing apprentices will remain with their current provider, ensuring continuity in their apprenticeship journey. However, in some cases, a transfer may be necessary. If this applies to you, the Department will reach out before 1 July 2024 to advise you of your new service delivery provider. To ensure a smooth transition, your new provider will contact you shortly after 1 July 2024 to establish ongoing service provision.
For new apprentices and employers
For those looking to start an apprenticeship or hire an apprentice after 1 July 2024, Mas National will be here to support you every step of the way. Our comprehensive services cater to both apprentices and employers, providing the guidance and resources needed to make your apprenticeship experience successful.

Contact Information
We understand that you may have questions about these changes. Here’s how you can get the information you need:
