Nominations Open for the 2026 Australian Training Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2026 Australian Training Awards, Australia’s leading national awards program for vocational education and training (VET).
Now in its 69th year, the Australian Training Awards recognise individuals and organisations that deliver excellence, drive innovation and strengthen Australia’s skills system. The awards celebrate the people and partnerships shaping workforce capability and career pathways across the nation.
Direct entry nominations are open for 2026. Employers, training providers, government agencies and industry stakeholders are encouraged to nominate outstanding achievements from across the VET and skills sector.
Open Nomination Categories
Individuals and organisations can nominate in the following direct entry categories:
- Outstanding Achievement in the VET and Skills Sector Award
- Innovation in VET Award
- Australian Apprenticeships Employer Award
- School Pathways to VET Award
- Excellence in Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice Award
Finalists from these categories will join state and territory award winners at the 2026 Gala Event in Sydney later this year.
Recognising Excellence Across Australia’s Skills System
The Australian Training Awards showcase the talent, leadership and commitment that keep Australia’s VET sector strong. Each year, the awards highlight best practice and recognise those who help Australians build skills for life and pursue meaningful careers.
Finalists and winners also gain the opportunity to join the Australian VET Alumni. Alumni act as ambassadors for skills-based careers, sharing their stories locally, nationally and internationally.
An Australian Training Award offers more than recognition on the night. It positions recipients as leaders in their field and highlights the real-world impact of VET across industry and the community
Australian Training Awards Nominations
Nominations close on 20 May 2026 and can be submitted via the Australian Training Awards website.
